Job Description
As a Senior Accountant, you will play a key role in supporting the financial operations of a growing credit union by preparing financial reports, maintaining the general ledger, and ensuring compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements. This position is responsible for month-end close activities, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and audit support while collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve accounting processes. The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and experienced in financial reporting within a banking or financial services environment.
Responsibilities:
· Prepare month-end journal entries, general ledger reconciliations, and financial reports.
· Prepare regulatory filings, including Call Reports and FR2900 reporting.
· Analyze budget-to-actual results and assist with month-over-month and year-over-year variance reporting.
· Support internal audits, external audits, and regulatory examinations.
· Maintain and support Workday financial systems while assisting with process improvements and reporting.
Qualifications and Requirements:
· Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration required.
· Minimum of 3–5 years of accounting experience with financial reporting responsibilities.
· Strong knowledge of GAAP, account reconciliations, and month-end close processes.
· Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; experience with Workday and Symitar/Jack Henry is highly preferred.
· Financial institution or credit union experience preferred with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
