A financially strong, growth-oriented organization within the insurance space is seeking a Controller to lead its accounting operations and ensure accurate, compliant financial reporting. This is a high-impact leadership role offering visibility to executive leadership and the opportunity to shape processes, develop a team, and support strategic initiatives. Backfill this role and the incumbant moves into the CFO seat.

Key Responsibilities
Lead financial reporting and statutory filings
Own month-end, year-end, and annual close processes
Oversee general ledger, audits, and internal controls
Lead, mentor, and develop a team
Partner with CFO on budgeting, forecasting, and process improvements

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
CPA designation strongly preferred
7+ years of progressive accounting experience
Prior leadership experience managing and developing staff required (2-3 years)
Strong understanding of financial reporting, general ledger, and internal controls
Experience within insurance or regulated industries preferred
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
