Job Description
City of Houston is looking for a Utility Plan Review Analyst. This position reviews applications for Wastewater Capacity Reservation (WCR) letters for the Utility Analysis-Developer Services Section. Prepare letters containing accurate impact fees owed in compliance with the Code of Ordinances and State Laws and Regulations. Provides critical customer service needs
Responsibilities:
- Provides accurate and detailed feedback to customers regarding the status of their applications. Enters approval or rejection and plan review notes in the building code database. Reviews corrected resubmittals.
- Interfaces with other technical disciplines and departments for code, ordinance and regulation enforcement and plan review processes.
- Provides data entry support for the Impact Fee Administration and Taps and Meters Groups.
- Answers questions from the public and internal staff by phone and in person. Communicates and assists customers with the application process. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Must have Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook, Adobe and superb customer service experience, via phone/in person/email, great writing skills, document analysis, able to review surveys, site plans, google earth, GIS/mapping systems and problem solver.
- Requires a related associate's degree, such as Building Inspection, or the equivalent. May require a valid Texas driver's license and compliance with the City of Houston's policy on driving.:
- Two years of skilled, journey level experience in building trades, inspection or plan examining in the area of analysis to be performed are required.
- Two additional years of skilled, journey level experience in building trades, inspection or plan examining in the area of analysis to be performed may be substituted for the above degree requirement.

Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is the full base salary range for the role.
