Senior Cost Accountant | Dunlap, Iowa | $85K–$100K + Bonus & Benefits
A national, Midwest-based company is seeking a highly analytical accounting professional to support manufacturing, inventory, logistics, and operational finance functions within a complex multi-channel business environment. What You’ll Work On
Operational & Cost Accounting
- Analyze manufacturing and operational cost drivers
- Review labor, material, and overhead variances
- Support margin analysis and profitability initiatives
- Partner cross-functionally with operations and leadership teams
Inventory & Reconciliation Support
- Assist with inventory controls, reconciliations, and cycle counts
- Support transportation and operational accounting functions
- Strengthen internal processes and reporting accuracy
- Participate in periodic onsite inventory oversight activities
Financial Reporting & Accounting Operations
- Support month-end and year-end close processes
- Prepare reconciliations, journal entries, and reporting schedules
- Assist with sales tax, cash management, and compliance-related activities
- Contribute to process improvement and system enhancement initiatives
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Experience within manufacturing, inventory-heavy, or operational environments preferred
- Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail
- ERP system experience required
- Advanced Excel skills
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
- Leadership potential and desire for long-term growth
