Job Description
Our client is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its accounting team and play a key role in financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and general ledger accounting. This position is ideal for an experienced accountant who enjoys working in a highly regulated environment, partnering across departments, and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting. The role offers a blend of statutory accounting, reconciliations, regulatory filings, fixed asset accounting, and audit support.

What You Will Do
- Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting documentation while maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger.
- Support month-end and year-end close processes, financial reporting, and the preparation of accounting schedules and workpapers.
- Partner with internal teams to resolve accounting discrepancies, improve reporting accuracy, and strengthen internal controls.
- Assist with internal and external audits, regulatory reporting, fixed asset accounting, and other compliance-related accounting responsibilities.
- Contribute to process improvements and special projects that enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the accounting function.
What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3-5 years of accounting experience in insurance, financial services, or public accounting.
- Experience preparing account reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting schedules.
- Strong understanding of general ledger accounting principles.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word skills.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Insurance industry accounting experience.
- Progress toward or completion of a CPA, CMA, MBA, FLMI, or similar professional designation.
- Experience with Blackline, Workday, Tritech, FSI, or similar financial reporting systems.
- Knowledge of statutory accounting and regulatory reporting requirements.
