Job Description
The Pallet Sorter is responsible for hand sorting pallets according to grade while ensuring all trash and debris are removed before pallets are returned to the customer. This role involves loading, unloading, moving and inspecting pallets while meeting established production and quality standards. The Pallet Sorter must maintain a clean and safe work environment while following company safety procedures and performance expectations. The position requires physical stamina, attention to detail and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Hand stack pallets to appropriate heights while following inventory control instructions.
- Load and unload materials from trailers by hand and move pallets or materials throughout the storage facility.
- Inspect pallets and products to verify conformance with quality standards and ensure loads are secure.
- Utilize yard management systems to coordinate trailer movements and complete production paperwork accurately.
- Communicate with the Shift Lead or On-Site Manager and maintain established production, efficiency, safety and performance standards.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Ability to work at a fast pace while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to repeatedly lift approximately 35–75 pounds and perform bending, stooping, walking, turning, pivoting and standing for extended periods.
- Good math, language and reading skills, along with basic computer skills.
- Ability to follow instructions, maintain accurate records and promote a safe work environment.
- Must be willing to work overtime and flexible schedules/shifts as required.
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen.
- Must be able to work in varying environmental conditions, including heat, cold and air particulates.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment, including safety shoes, eye protection and, where required, hearing protection.

The base pay range for this position is $18.00–$18.00 per hour, excluding benefits, bonuses, or other compensation. Your final compensation will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, location, and internal pay equity. Please note, hiring at the top of the range is uncommon to allow room for future growth.
