Your New Role:
As a Kitchen Prep Cook, you will have a big impact on the daily success of kitchen operations. You will prepare ingredients by washing, peeling, chopping, slicing, and dicing fruits, vegetables, meats, and other food items. You will follow prep lists created by the chef or kitchen manager to ensure all ingredients are ready for service.
You will perform basic cooking tasks such as preparing sauces, salads, and garnishes, as well as parboiling and portioning food items. You will properly label, store, and organize ingredients while maintaining kitchen inventory and food quality standards.
You will also assist chefs and cooks as needed, clean dishes and kitchen equipment, take out trash, and sanitize work areas. You will be responsible for following all food safety and sanitation guidelines to maintain a safe and efficient kitchen environment.
What You Need:
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Ability to follow food safety and sanitation guidelines
- Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Ability to be on your feet for long periods including standing, bending, kneeling, and lifting
- Basic knife skills and ability to safely handle kitchen tools
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen
