Job Description
The Reserves Network is partnering with a well-established, locally owned community bank in the Omaha metro to hire a Commercial Loan Officer. This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced commercial banker who enjoys building long-term business relationships, developing new lending opportunities, and serving as a trusted financial advisor to local businesses.
In this role, you will manage and grow a commercial loan portfolio while developing new business throughout the Omaha market. You will analyze credit opportunities, structure commercial lending solutions, collaborate with credit administration, and provide exceptional service that strengthens long-term client relationships. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and expand a portfolio of commercial lending relationships through business development and community networking
- Meet with business owners to understand financing needs and recommend commercial lending solutions
- Analyze business financial statements, tax returns, cash flow, collateral, and credit risk
- Structure commercial loans including commercial real estate, owner-occupied real estate, construction, equipment financing, working capital lines of credit, and term loans
- Prepare complete loan presentations and work closely with credit administration through the approval process
- Manage an existing commercial loan portfolio while ensuring strong credit quality and regulatory compliance
- Monitor loan relationships, financial performance, covenant compliance, and portfolio risk
- Cross-sell treasury management, deposit products, and other banking services to deepen customer relationships
- Maintain regular client contact through scheduled business visits and relationship reviews
- Participate in community organizations and networking events to promote the bank and generate new business
- Collaborate with retail banking, treasury management, and credit teams to deliver exceptional client service
- Ensure all lending activities comply with bank policies and applicable banking regulations
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, or a related field preferred
- 3+ years of commercial lending or commercial banking experience
- Experience developing new business and managing commercial client relationships
- Strong understanding of commercial credit analysis, financial statement analysis, and cash flow evaluation
- Knowledge of commercial real estate, C&I, construction, and business lending
- Ability to structure loan transactions while balancing client needs and sound credit practices
- Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
- Proven ability to develop referral sources and generate new business opportunities
- Knowledge of banking regulations and commercial lending documentation
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and commercial loan origination systems
