A well-established company in the Des Moines area is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Clerk to provide immediate support to its accounting team. This is a full-time, on-site temporary assignment expected to last approximately one month, with the possibility of extending depending on business needs and the timing of the company’s permanent hiring process. Key Responsibilities
• Process and verify incoming expense and inventory invoices
• Review invoices for accuracy, completeness, and proper documentation
• Reconcile vendor statements and research discrepancies
• Communicate with vendors regarding invoice and payment questions
• Maintain accurate and current vendor records
• Assist with resolving payment issues and outstanding balances
• Ensure transactions comply with company policies and payment procedures
• Collaborate with internal departments to obtain approvals and supporting information
• Maintain organized accounting records and documentation
• Support additional accounts payable and accounting projects as assigned
• Review invoices for accuracy, completeness, and proper documentation

Qualifications
• Previous accounts payable, accounting clerk, or related finance experience
• A two-year accounting degree may be considered in place of direct experience
• Basic understanding of accounting principles and accounts payable procedures
• Strong attention to detail and data-entry accuracy
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to interact professionally with vendors and internal departments
• Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
• A two-year accounting degree may be considered in place of direct experience
