Job Description
Work with a leading provider of advanced drilling and manufacturing solutions as a Welder in Cedar Park, TX. This temporary position offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced welder/fabricator to apply advanced welding and fabrication skills in a manufacturing environment.
The Welder will fabricate, assemble, inspect, and finish pipe, metal components, sheet metal, and other weldable materials while following blueprints, weld symbols, engineering drawings, work instructions, and established quality and safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, engineering drawings, AutoCAD drawings, and work instructions.
- Perform fit-up, tack welding, GTAW (TIG) welding, grinding, and finishing operations.
- Fabricate and assemble carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and other weldable materials.
- Weld thin-gauge sheet metal and fabricated assemblies down to .036" material thickness.
- Perform Sub-Arc, spot welding, stud welding, and robotic welding operations as required.
- Operate StingRay welding machines, beveling machines, hand torches, and track torches.
- Install PEM hardware, rivet nuts, inserts, studs, and related hardware.
- Perform drilling, tapping, countersinking, and other secondary fabrication operations.
- Accurately mark pipe with unique identification markers.
- Visually inspect completed work and make repairs or adjustments as required.
- Inspect finished products for dimensional and visual compliance with drawing requirements.
- Complete production reports, work order transactions, and other required documentation accurately and legibly.
- Support production schedules and execute work according to established priorities.
- Perform routine operator preventive maintenance on assigned equipment.
- Conduct daily equipment inspections and promptly report safety, quality, maintenance, or equipment concerns.
- Maintain tools, fixtures, welding equipment, and machinery in good working condition.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in accordance with 5S standards.
- Participate in continuous improvement activities focused on safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
- Comply with all company policies and Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) requirements.
- Perform other work-related tasks as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of welding and fabrication experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Demonstrated GTAW (TIG) welding experience.
- Sub-Arc welding experience required.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, weld symbols, and work instructions.
- Experience welding carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.
- Experience with sheet metal fabrication and assembly.
- Experience welding thin-gauge sheet metal.
- Experience with robotic welding operations preferred.
- Experience with spot welding and stud welding preferred.
- Experience in a high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environment preferred.
- Overhead crane experience preferred.
- Experience with measuring tools, tape measures, and dial calipers.
- Ability to perform welding, fabrication, grinding, and finishing operations for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must pass a pre-employment criminal background check and drug screen.
