Job Description:
This organization is seeking a skilled Systems Security Engineer who is passionate about building robust security infrastructures and protecting against cyber threats. On this collaborative team you will be a subject matter expert in designing, implementing, and configuring essential security tools and controls. You'll play a critical role in developing future-state security plans, investigating malicious activity, and ensuring systems are hardened against vulnerabilities.
Responsibilities:
- Design and Implement Security Solutions: Drive the planning, design, and implementation of security systems and controls to harden our systems and close vulnerabilities, including intrusion detection, encryption, and VPNs.
- Monitor and Administer Security Systems: Administer and monitor a wide range of network security equipment and systems, such as DLP, SIEM, anti-virus/anti-malware, firewalls, and IPS.
- Investigate and Respond to Threats: Investigate and analyze security incidents, including intrusions, malware, and other malicious activity, using forensic techniques.
- Develop and Maintain Security Policies: Roll out, maintain, and improve strict security policies that align with industry best practices and banking sector compliance obligations.
- Collaborate and Provide Expertise: Act as a subject matter expert, providing guidance to security and other IT teams, developing documentation, and training peers on new solutions.
- Strategize and Mitigate Risk: Apply your knowledge of controls, threats, and vulnerabilities to assist with future-state security planning, identify opportunities for improvement, and assess cyber security risks.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Education: A four-year degree in Computer Science or equivalent is required, or a combination of education and experience.
- Experience: You'll need at least five years of experience in network security and/or systems management with a focus on information security.
- Certifications: While not required, certifications like Security+, CEH, GSEC, OSCP, or CISSP are preferred.
- Key Qualities: We're looking for someone with a positive attitude who can learn quickly, adapt to change, and effectively prioritize multiple projects.

The base salary range for this position is $85,000 – $100,000, excluding benefits, bonuses, or other compensation. Your final salary will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, location, and internal pay equity. Please note, hiring at the top of the range is uncommon to allow room for future salary growth.
