Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Electromechanical Design Engineer to join a growing product development team responsible for sophisticated, technology-driven equipment used in safety-critical applications. This is a multidisciplinary engineering position with an approximately 50/50 blend of mechanical and electrical work, depending on the project. You will design mechanical structures, components, and assemblies while also working with electrical and electronic elements such as sensors, actuators, cabling, connectors, controls, and related technology. This is also a highly hands-on engineering role. You will follow products from initial concept and detailed design through prototype development, system integration, testing, troubleshooting, engineering changes, and production release. You will have the opportunity to work directly with the physical equipment you help develop rather than being limited to design work behind a desk.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop mechanical, electrical, and electromechanical components, assemblies, and integrated systems.
- Manage engineering projects from concept and detailed design through prototype development, testing, validation, and production release.
- Develop 3D models, engineering drawings, BOMs, specifications, and supporting technical documentation.
- Integrate mechanical structures with sensors, actuators, wiring, connectors, controls, and other electrical/electronic technology.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Production, Quality, and Supply Chain to resolve design, assembly, manufacturing, and system-performance challenges.
- Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement engineering changes and product improvements.
- Support prototype builds, system testing, new product introduction, and transition into production.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
- 5+ years of professional experience in product development, design engineering, or complex engineered equipment.
- Demonstrated experience working with both mechanical and electrical/electromechanical systems.
- Strong 3D CAD capabilities; SolidWorks experience
- Experience with engineering drawings, BOMs, specifications, GD&T, and tolerance analysis.
- Experience integrating sensors, actuators, cables, connectors, controls, or similar electrical hardware into mechanical systems.
- Strong hands-on troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively within a collaborative, cross-functional engineering team.
Benefits and Perks:
- Competitive base salary up to $140,000, depending on experience
- Bonus opportunities, including recognition for exceptional project contributions
- Stable, well-established organization with continued growth
- Hands-on product development environment
- Opportunity to work on sophisticated technology with meaningful, safety-focused applications
- Small, collaborative engineering team with experienced professionals
- Exposure to a variety of engineering and product development projects
- Long-term career growth opportunities as the engineering organization continues to expand
