Job Description
As a QA Laboratory Technician, you will operate under the supervision of the Quality Assurance Manager. You will be responsible for testing bottled water products to ensure correct specifications and identifying food safety or quality control issues that need to be corrected. This position involves effective issue resolution and accurate recordkeeping.
Responsibilities
- Achieve PCQI and SQF Certifications to act as backup for the QA Manager.
- Perform internal audits.
- Conduct extensive audits with external auditors in SQFP’s absence.
- Perform chemical and microbiological tests on finished products and raw materials.
- Assist with lab instrument calibrations on a set schedule.
- Record plant equipment readings during line checks.
- Participate in employee food safety meetings and training.
- Follow all FDA, SQF and company policies and procedures to ensure product integrity and quality assurance.
- Perform other lab/quality assurance duties as requested.
- Suggest improvements for food safety procedures and practices.
- Perform some light sanitation tasks.
Qualifications and Requirements
- High school diploma/GED required.
- Proficient in MS Office.
- Capable of prioritizing tasks to meet goals and ensure food safety and product quality.
- Effective written and oral communication skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work well with minimal supervision.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and follow specified procedures.
