Job Description
A growing manufacturing facility in Plainfield, IL is seeking a skilled Maintenance/Setup Tech to support production operations through preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, equipment setup, and mold changes. This role is responsible for ensuring production equipment operates safely and efficiently while minimizing downtime and waste. Candidates should be mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities:
- Perform preventive maintenance on production equipment according to established schedules
- Troubleshoot, repair, and coordinate maintenance for machinery and equipment
- Complete mold changes and equipment setup to support production schedules
- Maintain grinders, conveyors, thermolators, and related manufacturing equipment
- Identify opportunities to reduce scrap, waste, and operational inefficiencies
- Maintain accurate maintenance documentation and support PM schedule improvements
- Ensure work areas and equipment remain clean, organized, and safe
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Previous maintenance or setup technician experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
- Mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills required
- Experience with production equipment, mold changes, or preventive maintenance programs
- Ability to lift, move, and work around manufacturing machinery safely
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently or within a team
