Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to lead the maintenance function for a manufacturing facility by driving structure, accountability, and operational consistency across the department. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing preventative and reactive maintenance, directing workflow and scheduling, improving equipment uptime, and managing a team of 10 direct reports. The ideal candidate will bring a strong management background, mechanical aptitude, and experience leading maintenance operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This is a hands-on leadership role focused on continuous improvement, equipment reliability, team development, and operational excellence.
Responsibilities:
• Lead and manage all plant maintenance operations, including preventative and reactive maintenance activities
• Develop and maintain Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedules to maximize uptime and reduce downtime
• Direct workflow, prioritize repairs, assign maintenance tasks, and manage scheduling for the team
• Supervise, coach, and develop a team of 10 maintenance employees while building accountability and consistency
• Oversee machine availability and coordinate repairs to ensure production goals are met
• Perform root cause analysis on equipment failures and implement corrective actions
• Identify and drive continuous improvement initiatives throughout the facility
• Prepare annual maintenance budgets, forecasts, and capital expenditure proposals
• Monitor and control department spending and maintenance-related project costs
• Ensure buildings, machinery, and facilities remain safe, compliant, and operational
• Communicate with internal departments and external vendors to coordinate maintenance activities
• Prepare reports and present updates regarding maintenance performance and improvement plans
• Maintain compliance with all health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures
• Support plant leadership with strategic planning and operational improvement initiatives
• Complete additional maintenance and facility projects as assigned

Qualifications and Requirements:
• 5+ years of management experience in a maintenance leadership role
• 4–5 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial facility
• Strong leadership experience with proven success managing teams and workflow
• Excellent mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and guide repairs
• Experience with plant operations, preventative maintenance, and equipment reliability
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Experience with maintenance budgeting and cost management
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams and collaborate with plant leadership
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
• Strong organizational, planning, and decision-making abilities
• Experience with continuous improvement processes in manufacturing preferred
• Understanding of plant operations, procurement, and supply chain processes preferred

The base pay range for this position is $100,000–$120,000 annually, excluding benefits, bonuses, or other compensation. Final compensation will depend on skills, qualifications, experience, location, and internal pay equity. Hiring at the top of the range is uncommon to allow room for future growth.
