Job Description
An established industrial distribution company in Houston is seeking a detail-oriented Cycle Counter to maintain accurate inventory and investigate discrepancies within a busy warehouse environment. This position performs daily cycle counts, reviews inventory activity, verifies material locations, and enters inventory information using a computer. The ideal candidate has previous industrial experience, strong attention to detail, moderate computer literacy, and the ability to work independently while maintaining accuracy.
Responsibilities:
- Perform daily and scheduled cycle counts to verify inventory quantities and material locations.
- Review on-hand inventory and current and historical activity to identify and research discrepancies.
- Reconcile inventory discrepancies and accurately enter inventory information using a laptop or computer system.
- Maintain organized material locations and a clean, orderly warehouse while following established safety procedures.
- Operate warehouse equipment such as sit-down forklifts, stand-up reach trucks, and order pickers as needed.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Previous industrial experience required.
- Experience with cycle counting and inventory control.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to research and reconcile inventory discrepancies.
- Moderate computer literacy, including basic data entry using a laptop.
- Moderate math and analytical skills.
- Experience with pipe, fittings, and flanges preferred.
- Sit-down forklift, stand-up reach truck, or order picker experience preferred.
- Ability to work independently, multitask, follow directions, and contribute as part of a team.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, and move throughout a warehouse environment.
- Must have the following PPE on the first day: safety vest, hard hat, safety glasses, and gloves.
- Must wear 5-inch steel-toed boots that cover the ankles.
- Ability to regularly lift and/or move materials weighing 10–50 pounds.
- Availability to work overtime when necessary, including Saturdays.
- Must be able to meet applicable background check and drug screening requirements.

The base pay range for this position is $17.00–$18.00 per hour, excluding benefits, bonuses, or other compensation. Your final compensation will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, location, and internal pay equity. Please note, hiring at the top of the range is uncommon to allow room for future growth.
