Job Description
A respected engineering consulting organization is expanding its project support team and seeking a Construction Administrator to oversee mechanical and electrical system coordination for a variety of commercial construction projects. Project types may include educational facilities, multifamily developments, institutional buildings, commercial spaces, and complex technical environments.
This position plays a critical role in maintaining project quality, supporting construction progress, and ensuring alignment between design intent and field execution. The role offers a combination of office based coordination and onsite project involvement throughout the region.
Responsibilities
- Monitor mechanical and electrical system installation activities throughout project construction
- Travel primarily within approximately 200 miles of Omaha with occasional additional travel as needed
- Prepare detailed site observation reports documenting progress, deficiencies, and corrective actions
- Maintain accurate project files and communication records throughout the project lifecycle
- Respond to requests for information from contractors, architects, clients, and project stakeholders
- Provide updates and documentation regarding existing site conditions and construction progress
Qualifications and Requirements
- AS or BS in Construction Management or a related field preferred or equivalent construction industry experience
- Previous experience in construction administration involving building mechanical and electrical systems required
- Understanding of commercial construction practices, codes, and standards related to mechanical and electrical system
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively
- Comfortable working independently and collaboratively within project teams
