Job Summary:
A large educational institution in the Alexandria area is looking for several Building Engineers.
Responsibilities:
- Maintains safe, clean, and functional school facilities
- Performs routine maintenance on HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems
- Handles basic repairs (doors, locks, fixtures, minor equipment)
- Sets up rooms and equipment for classes, meetings, and events
- Conducts facility inspections and reports repair needs
- Completes preventive maintenance tasks (filters, belts, lubrication)
- Responds to work orders and emergency issues
- Maintains records (work orders, inspections, inventory)
- Communicates daily with school leadership on priorities
- Supports building operations (open/close, safety checks)
Qualifications and Requirements:
- 6+ years progressive facilities experience
- Higher-level engineer license + HVAC certification
- Strong knowledge of central plant/HVAC system

The base pay range for this position is $27.00 – 38.00, excluding benefits, bonuses, or other compensation. Your final compensation will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, location, and internal pay equity. Please note, hiring at the top of the range is uncommon to allow room for future growth.
