Job Description
The Reserves Network is seeking a skilled Electrical CAD Designer to join the engineering team of a growing manufacturer specializing in custom engine control systems, electrical panels, and wiring harness solutions. This position will design electrical wiring harnesses, schematics, wiring diagrams, control panel layouts, and manufacturing documentation for industrial engines and equipment. The Electrical CAD Designer will work closely with engineering, production, suppliers, and customers to develop reliable, manufacturable designs that meet project requirements. Responsibilities:
- Design and develop electrical wiring harnesses, schematics, wiring diagrams, and control panel layouts using CAD software
- Create harness assembly drawings, wire lists, BOMs, connector details, termination specifications, and manufacturing documentation
- Maintain engineering drawings, revisions, component libraries, and change documentation
- Collaborate with engineering, production, suppliers, and customers to ensure designs meet project and manufacturing requirements
- Support prototypes, testing, troubleshooting, product validation, and continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Associate degree or higher in Electrical Engineering Technology, CAD Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field
- Minimum 2 years of CAD design experience in an electrical, controls, or manufacturing environment
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Electrical, SolidWorks Electrical, EPLAN, Altium, KiCad, or similar CAD/design software
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
- Strong understanding of electrical components including relays, sensors, switches, connectors, terminals, circuit protection devices, and control systems
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Experience with engine wiring harnesses, CAN Bus systems, electronic engine controls, UL 508A control panels, or electrical manufacturing is preferred
