Job Description
An established manufacturing company in Bardstown, KY, is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to support its accounting and financial operations. This role partners with department leaders on monthly financial close, reporting, tax compliance, audits, account reconciliations, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls. The Senior Accountant will also oversee key accounting activities and help strengthen financial processes, policies, and reporting practices. This position is ideal for an experienced manufacturing accountant with strong analytical skills and previous supervisory experience.
Responsibilities:
- Manage accounting operations, including billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, cost accounting, inventory accounting, revenue recognition, payroll support, and accounting transactions
- Lead month-end and year-end close activities, account reconciliations, financial statement preparation, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Analyze costs, pricing, sales results, financial trends, and actual performance against business plans while identifying cost-reduction opportunities
- Support tax compliance, audits, business permits and licenses, regulatory reporting, internal controls, insurance administration, and compliance with applicable laws and company policies
- Oversee daily accounting department activities, establish accounting policies and procedures, resolve payment discrepancies, and partner cross-functionally to support business and financial objectives
Qualifications and Requirements:
- 5+ years of accounting experience within a manufacturing environment required
- Previous experience in supervisory accounting or finance role required
- Proven accounting experience with a strong understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 and ERP platforms is required
- Degree in Accounting required; CPA designation preferred
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office and relevant accounting and financial software
- Strong analytical, numerical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail
- Ability to understand and follow work-based instructions and applicable manufacturing practices, including cGMP
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with individuals from varied backgrounds
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment screening, including drug test and background checks

The base salary range for this position is $90-$100K Salary, excluding benefits, bonuses, or other compensation. Your final compensation will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, location, and internal pay equity. Please note, hiring at the top of the range is uncommon to allow room for future growth.
