Job Description
A well-established organization in the Des Moines metro is looking for a Senior Accountant to join its accounting and finance team. This role will have broad ownership across financial reporting, close, budgeting, forecasting, payroll and benefits accounting, and process improvement.

What You’ll Do
- Prepare financial statements, reconciliations, and financial analysis in accordance with GAAP
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning
- Oversee accounting related to payroll, employee benefits, and retirement programs
- Assist with cash activity, cost allocations, commissions, and incentive programs
- Support audits, regulatory reporting, and compliance activities
- Improve accounting processes, internal controls, and reporting efficiency
- Partner with HR and other departments on financial and accounting matters
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field
- 4-5+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong financial reporting, month-end close, reconciliation, and GAAP knowledge
- Experience with payroll, benefits, or related accounting preferred
- Strong Excel and financial systems skills
- CPA and/or MBA preferred
