Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Lead Employment-Based Immigration Paralegal to serve as a technical expert and team resource within a busy immigration practice. This role will oversee complex employment-based immigration matters, support attorneys, guide and train paralegal staff, and ensure cases are prepared accurately and efficiently. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with employment-based immigration filings, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage workflows, mentor team members, and provide a high level of service to clients in a fast-paced environment. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys both case management and improving team processes.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the technical expert and resource for employment-based immigration matters.
- Oversee the preparation and review of employment-based immigration documents, including H-1B, L-1, TN, O, E, F, and B visa petitions and applications.
- Manage and oversee PERM, I-140, green card filings, visa applications, RFE responses, audits, motions, and appeals.
- Manage a personal caseload while ensuring cases are completed accurately and on schedule.
- Assign and reassign cases to legal team members and monitor workflow.
- Provide guidance, training, and support to junior paralegals and staff members.
- Assist attorneys with complex cases, special projects, and legal requests.
- Create and maintain process documentation, training materials, checklists, and questionnaires.
- Promote knowledge sharing and consistent best practices across the paralegal team.
- Maintain accurate client files and case records in internal systems.
- Communicate with clients regarding case status, next steps, documentation, and general updates.
- Ensure timely preparation and filing of immigration paperwork while tracking deadlines and milestones.
- Assist with onboarding and training of new hires and implementation of internal procedures.
- Identify process improvements and recommend ways to improve efficiency.
- Handle escalated client concerns and assist with complaint resolution.
- Collaborate with attorneys on high-priority cases and deadline-driven matters.
- Support case-related administrative tasks, including legal mail, billing questions, and client account coordination.
- Provide support for walk-in clients and general client service needs.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Paralegal certification preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in employment-based immigration law.
- Strong knowledge of employment-based immigration processes and case management.
- Hands-on experience with employment-based filings, including:
- H-1B
- L-1
- TN
- visas
- E visas
- PERM
- I-140 petitions
- Employment-based green cards
- Experience reviewing and preparing immigration documentation, petitions, applications, and supporting materials.
- Ability to manage a high-volume caseload while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects.
- Experience training, mentoring, or supporting junior paralegals.
- Ability to create and improve processes, documentation, checklists, and training materials.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong client service skills with the ability to communicate professionally with clients in stressful situations.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with attorneys, paralegals, and internal teams.
- Proactive, adaptable mindset with a willingness to take ownership and drive improvements.

The base pay range for this position is $72,000 excluding benefits, bonuses, or other compensation. Your final compensation will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, location, and internal pay equity. Please note, hiring at the top of the range is uncommon to allow room for future growth.
