Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Tool Grinder to perform progressive machining on a diversified line of close-tolerance work requiring a varying degree of skill and machining techniques. Diagnose and rectify tooling problems and machine malfunctions. Work from drawings, specifications, and job layouts. Ability to set up, adjust, and operate a variety of manual grinders and surface grinders.
Responsibilities:
- Sharpen and maintain production tooling.
- Operate surface grinders with a high level of proficiency.
- Use production schedules to ensure tooling is ready for production runs.
- Using a shop router and/or a drawing, set up dies and the specific layout holding exact tolerances.
- Repair production machines
- Calculate and confirm the tool conditions set for each job.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- High School Diploma
- Good Mechanical Skills to repair machines
- Experience with surface grinders and a general knowledge of machining practices.
- Excellent shop math – test will be given.
- Able to read a ruler, micrometer, and caliper.
