Job Description
A large, mission-driven healthcare organization is seeking a Senior Compensation Analyst to support and enhance its compensation programs. This role provides high-level consultation to HR and leadership, ensuring compensation practices are competitive, equitable, and compliant with federal and state regulations. The position is responsible for analyzing market data, managing job evaluations, supporting salary and position changes, and contributing to annual compensation reviews. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical and communication skills, along with experience in compensation, financial analysis, or HR. Proficiency in Excel and experience with HR systems such as PeopleSoft are essential.
Responsibilities
- Provide compensation consulting and guidance to HR and leadership, including policy interpretation and issue resolution
- Analyze market data and internal equity to develop compensation recommendations
- Support and administer compensation programs, policies, and processes
- Conduct job analysis, job evaluations, and job description development
- Manage job codes, job attributes, and compensation data within HR systems (e.g., PeopleSoft)
- Process and support salary actions and position changes
- Participate in and complete compensation surveys, including data submission and documentation
- Maintain benchmark job matches and compensation data for analysis
- Perform data analysis, reporting, and costing related to compensation trends and decisions
- Support the annual market review process, including data review, regression analysis, and structure adjustments
- Ensure compliance with federal/state regulations and internal compensation policies
- Prepare and deliver reports, presentations, and training on compensation topics
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to improve processes and ensure program effectiveness
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Human Resources, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in compensation, financial analysis, accounting, or HR
- Experience with compensation programs, job evaluations, and salary administration
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills, including market analysis and internal equity review
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Project)
- Experience with HRIS systems, preferably PeopleSoft
- Familiarity with tools such as Visio is a plus
- Knowledge of federal and state compensation laws and regulations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including reporting and presentations
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to research, interpret data, and provide actionable recommendations
- Strong customer service and stakeholder management skills
- Project management experience preferred
- Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) or similar certification preferred
