Quality Control Inspector – Fiber Optics | $17.00 to $20.00 per hour

Job Description:
As a Quality Control Inspector – Fiber Optics, you will inspect fiber optic cables, incoming materials, and in-process assemblies to verify compliance with engineering specifications and quality standards. You will accept or reject products, document nonconformances, and report discrepancies to supervision and management. This role requires precise measurement, accurate data entry, and the ability to interpret technical drawings and detailed work instructions. You will also support final inspections and maintain records that ensure product traceability across multiple product lines.
Responsibilities:
- Inspect fiber optic cables, incoming items, and in-process assemblies, and support final product inspections.
- Accept or reject products and materials according to specifications and standards; identify, document, and report nonconformances.
- Use measuring equipment and perform calculations involving weight, torque conversions, and dimensions while ensuring equipment remains accurate and well maintained.
- Sort and stage incoming inventory for inspection and maintain a safe work area by following established procedures.
- Record daily job progress, deficiencies, product information, traceability details, labor hours, and inspection results in written logs and electronic databases.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Strong attention to detail and quality, with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to read detailed work instructions and interpret drawings, schematics, specifications, and standards.
- Proficiency in data entry and computer use, along with accurate measuring-tool use and basic mathematical skills.
- Ability to bend, stoop, reach, sit, stand, and walk for extended periods and lift up to 30 pounds.
Preferred qualifications:
- Previous quality assurance or quality control inspection experience.
- Bilingual English and Spanish communication.
- Willingness to work varied shifts during increased production demand.
