Job Description
As a Quality Compliance Engineer, you will manage the product compliance testing and certification program for electro-mechanical medical devices. This includes ensuring compliance with national and international Safety/EMC standards and overseeing documentation, testing, and certification throughout the product life cycle. You will play a key role in maintaining regulatory compliance and quality management system standards in a highly collaborative and mission-driven environment.
Responsibilities:
- Lead product safety/EMC programs and third-party NRTL testing from concept to obsolescence
- Manage testing of production units to maintain global certifications (e.g., CE, UL, CSA, FCC/RED)
- Provide technical guidance to engineering teams to ensure compliance with design standards
- Review and implement regulatory standards including MDSAP, EU, UK, and international requirements
- Support product safety testing in manufacturing and identify/resolve compliance-related design issues
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field and 5+ years of relevant experience (or equivalent)
- 3+ years in a medical device or similarly regulated environment
- Hands-on experience with IEC 60601-1 series and global Safety/EMC standards
- EMC design, testing, and troubleshooting experience; knowledge of CE/FCC requirements
- Familiarity with ISO 13485, 21 CFR 820, and product lifecycle safety management

The base salary range for this position is $100,000-$130,000 excluding benefits, bonuses, or other compensation. Your final salary will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, location, and internal pay equity. Please note, hiring at the top of the range is uncommon to allow room for future salary growth.
