Job Description:
The Safety Manager is responsible for supporting and promoting a safe, compliant, and productive work environment across active construction projects. This role works closely with project leadership teams, including foremen, superintendents, and project managers, to ensure all employees and subcontractors follow company safety standards and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Implement and monitor safety programs and procedures to ensure compliance with OSHA, MSHA, DOT, and company regulations.
- Partner with project leadership to promote safe, efficient, and compliant jobsite operations.
- Take part in daily safety briefings, site inspections, walkthroughs, and Pre-Task Planning meetings.
- Educate employees and subcontractors on safety protocols, workplace hazards, and industry best practices.
- Coordinate permits for specialized tasks such as excavation, confined space work, and other regulated activities.
- Lead investigations involving incidents, injuries, and near misses while developing corrective and preventative action plans.
- Ensure all personnel complete required site orientations, certifications, and ongoing safety training.
- Perform regular inspections of jobsites, equipment, tools, and company vehicles to maintain safe working conditions.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date safety records, reports, and compliance documentation.
- Verify that employees are properly trained and utilize the required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Assist with additional safety programs, reporting duties, and administrative tasks as needed.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in safety management, Occupational Safety, or related field preferred; equivalent construction safety experience considered in lieu of a degree.
- Knowledge of OSHA, DOT, confined space, excavation safety, and First Aid/CPR requirements.
- CHST or CSP certification preferred or required within 6 months of hire.
- Strong communication, computer, and organizational skills with experience preparing reports and conducting investigations.
- Experience leading safety training, toolbox talks, and Pre-Task Planning discussions.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Ability to travel overnight as needed (typically less than 20%).

In the spirit of pay transparency, we want to share the base salary range for this position is 90,000 to 110,000 not including benefits, potential bonuses or additional compensation. If you are hired, your base salary will be determined based on factors such as individual skills, qualifications, experience, and geographic location. In addition, we also believe in the importance of pay equity and consider the internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is the full base salary range for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical in order to allow for future & continued salary growth
