Job Description
We are seeking a Production Quality Coordinator to support product and process quality standards within a manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for incoming, in-process, and shipping inspections, while also supporting testing, calibration, document control, audit reporting, and quality system compliance. The ideal candidate has strong automotive quality experience, above-average computer skills, and hands-on knowledge of metrology and measurement equipment. This position works closely with production, engineering, maintenance, and quality leadership to identify non-conformances, improve processes, and ensure compliance with ISO/IATF 16949 requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct incoming inspections of raw materials and component parts using visual, mechanical, and chemical testing methods to verify compliance with quality standards.
- Perform in-process quality inspections, production audits, shipping inspections, and product testing according to internal, regulatory, and customer requirements.
- Manage calibration and verification activities for measurement and test equipment, including logging, tracking, and maintaining equipment records.
- Maintain ISO/IATF document control processes for customer requirements, specifications, test methods, audit findings, and quality records.
- Identify non-conformances, document findings, generate accurate reports, and recommend improvements to reduce cost, improve quality, and optimize test equipment maintenance.
- Partner with production, engineering, maintenance, and quality leadership to resolve issues, maintain product traceability, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Follow all company safety, housekeeping, personnel, and quality policies while performing additional duties as assigned by supervision.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Associate degree required; coursework or certification in Quality, Manufacturing, or a related technical field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of quality experience in a manufacturing environment required.
- Direct automotive industry quality experience is strongly required; candidates without automotive quality background will not be considered.
- Working knowledge of ISO/IATF 16949 quality management system requirements.
- Hands-on experience using metrology and measurement equipment in a Quality Lab setting, such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and CMM.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills required, including Excel, Word, and Outlook; experience with quality management software or ERP systems is a plus.
- Familiarity with document control, audit reporting, product traceability, and customer requirement management.
- Ability to work cross-functionally, manage multiple priorities, communicate clearly, and resolve non-conformances with strong attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with plastics processing, extrusion, or injection/blow molding operations.
- Familiarity with APQP, PPAP, FMEA, and control plan development.
- Prior experience using CMM or other advanced metrology equipment.
- Exposure to lean manufacturing or Six Sigma principles.
