Job Description
The Material Handler is responsible for preparing and handling materials from incoming stock through production. This role supports production by keeping materials separated, free of contamination, properly measured, mixed, and delivered to machines as needed. The Material Handler operates grinders, mixers, dryers, and forklift equipment while maintaining strict cleanliness, safety, and documentation standards. This position also assists with finished goods movement, packing material delivery, inventory support, and basic equipment maintenance.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare, measure, mix, identify, and separate plastic materials to specified percentages while preventing contamination.
- Operate and maintain plastic grinders, mixers, and dryers, including changing materials, cleaning equipment, maintaining blades and filters, and monitoring timers and temperatures.
- Support production by delivering packing materials such as boxes, bags, tape, and pallets while helping keep minimal materials at each machine.
- Move finished goods from production to the warehouse in a timely manner, ensuring proper product identification.
- Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas; complete required documentation, monitor supplies, and assist with troubleshooting or repairs when able.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Material handling experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Forklift experience required.
- Ability to identify different plastic materials and keep materials strictly separated.
- Mechanical aptitude to support basic troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and machine repairs as needed.
- Ability to follow strict cleanliness, safety, housekeeping, quality, and process requirements.
- Knowledge or ability to follow requirements related to rejects management, housekeeping, suspended product process instruction, raw material handling, bellow inspection, colorant material use, and regrind material handling.

The base pay range for this position is $16 per hour, excluding benefits, bonuses, or other compensation. Your final compensation will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, location, and internal pay equity. Please note, hiring at the top of the range is uncommon to allow room for future growth.
