Job Description
A growing manufacturing organization in Gastonia, NC is seeking a hands-on Maintenance & Facilities Manager to oversee facility maintenance, reliability, and operational readiness. This role will build and manage preventive maintenance programs, spare parts inventory, contractor coordination, and facility improvement projects in a fast-moving production environment. The ideal candidate is mechanically capable, highly organized, safety-focused, and comfortable balancing hands-on troubleshooting with leadership and planning responsibilities. This position works closely with operations, engineering, and leadership to keep the facility safe, reliable, and ready to support production growth.
Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs, SOPs, inspection schedules, and work order tracking systems across facility equipment and systems
• Manage facility equipment inventory, spare parts programs, procurement of replacement parts, and maintenance service records
• Plan and execute facility improvement projects, equipment installations, project schedules, and contractor coordination
• Maintain strong adherence to OSHA standards, facility safety protocols, and compliance readiness for inspections or reviews
• Lead and support maintenance supervisors and technicians while fostering accountability, safety, and operational discipline
Qualifications and Requirements:
• Experience leading maintenance or facility teams in a manufacturing or industrial environment
• Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on maintenance, troubleshooting, and facility repair experience
• Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety, OSHA standards, and operational discipline
• Proficiency using computers, spreadsheets, office software, and maintenance tracking tools
• Ability to manage changing priorities, coordinate contractors, and lead technicians or small maintenance teams
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in chemical, processing, or manufacturing facilities
• Experience implementing preventive maintenance programs or maintenance management systems
• Familiarity with industrial electrical power distribution, equipment installations, and maintenance parts purchasing
• Experience working with state or county regulatory agencies
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb ladders as needed
• Ability to lift and carry 20-50 lbs. regularly and up to 60 lbs. when required
• Comfort working in varied temperatures, small spaces, rooftops, or uneven facility areas
• Adequate vision, hearing, and communication abilities to identify hazards and communicate clearly

The base pay range for this position is$100,000-$110,000 annually, excluding benefits, bonuses, or other compensation. Your final compensation will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, location, and internal pay equity.
