Job Description
We are seeking an IT Business Analysis Manager to lead, coach, and develop a team of Business Analysts supporting business and technology initiatives across the organization. This role is responsible for advancing Business Analysis standards, practices, and capabilities while ensuring the team consistently delivers high-quality requirements, user stories, testing support, and business and product documentation.
The ideal candidate combines strong Business Analysis expertise with people leadership, Agile experience, and enough technical depth to collaborate effectively with Product Owners, engineers, architects, Quality Assurance, and business stakeholders. This individual will play an important role in developing BA talent, improving consistency across teams, and advancing the organization's overall product and technical maturity.
Responsibilities:
- Lead, coach, mentor, and develop Business Analysts across the team
- Provide ongoing skill development and guidance around requirements gathering, user stories, acceptance criteria, testing, documentation, and business process analysis
- Organize workshops, training sessions, and knowledge-sharing forums to promote continuous learning and professional development
- Establish, promote, and reinforce Business Analysis standards, methodologies, and best practices
- Ensure BA deliverables are consistent, clear, maintainable, and aligned with business and technology objectives
- Help advance Business Analysis, product, and technical maturity across teams and the broader department
- Collaborate closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts, engineers, architects, Quality Assurance, and business stakeholders
- Support effective requirements gathering and ensure business needs are translated into clear, actionable user stories and supporting artifacts
- Ensure Business Analysts have the knowledge and skills necessary to identify business process and product improvements
- Support the development of detailed requirements for test cases and acceptance criteria
- Promote strong collaboration between business, product, and technology teams
- Help ensure the delivery of reliable, high-quality technology solutions
- Encourage continuous improvement in BA processes, tools, documentation, and delivery practices
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization, including external vendors when necessary
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in business, technology, or a related field
- 3 or more years of related Business Analysis, technology, or leadership experience
- Experience coaching, mentoring, developing, or leading Business Analysts or other technology professionals
- Strong understanding of Business Analysis practices including requirements gathering, user stories, acceptance criteria, testing, and business process documentation
- Working knowledge of Agile methodologies such as Scrum and Kanban
- Strong technical understanding of information systems, software development, and development operations
- Ability to work effectively with Product Owners, engineers, architects, QA professionals, and business stakeholders
- Strong documentation, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with stakeholders at all levels of the organization
- Strong interpersonal, facilitation, mentoring, and conflict-resolution skills
- Ability to establish and reinforce standards and best practices across a team
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a collaborative environment
Preferred Skills:
- Property and casualty insurance industry experience
- Knowledge of property and casualty rating, policy coverages, endorsements, and insurance products
- Familiarity with insurance rating schemes and related business processes
- Experience with application lifecycle management tools such as Azure DevOps, JIRA, or Rally
- SQL knowledge
- Experience working with software development, QA/testing, systems analysis, data, or DevOps teams
- Understanding of continuous integration and continuous delivery practices
- Experience creating or improving Business Analysis standards, processes, templates, or best practices
- Experience leading training, workshops, or Business Analysis communities of practice

In the spirit of pay transparency, we want to share the base salary range for this position is $100,000 – $120,000, not including benefits, potential bonuses or additional compensation. If you are hired, your base salary will be determined based on factors such as individual skills, qualifications, experience, and geographic location. In addition, we also believe in the importance of pay equity and consider the internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is the full base salary range for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical in order to allow for future & continued salary growth
