Job Description
Our client is seeking an experienced Employment-Based Paralegal to manage employment immigration matters from start to finish. This role is responsible for preparing and overseeing PERM cases, including prevailing wage requests, recruitment, labor certifications, I-140 petitions, green card applications, and related filings. The ideal candidate will have 1–2+ years of employment-based immigration experience, be comfortable managing deadlines independently, provide exceptional client service, and thrive in a fast-paced environment with minimal training.
Responsibilities:
- Manage employment-based immigration cases from start to finish, ensuring all deadlines are met.
- Prepare and oversee PERM labor certification cases, including Prevailing Wage Requests (ETA 9141), recruitment, and ETA 9089 filings.
- Prepare and file employment-based petitions and applications, including I-140s, green card applications, and various nonimmigrant visa petitions (H-1B, L-1, TN, O, E, F, B, etc.).
- Prepare responses to Requests for Evidence (RFEs), audits, motions to reopen, and appeals.
- Coordinate with attorneys on complex cases and time-sensitive matters.
- Maintain accurate case files and track case progress within the firm's case management system.
- Communicate regularly with clients, providing status updates and explaining next steps throughout the immigration process.
- Ensure compliance with immigration regulations and internal procedures.
- Assist with training new team members and supporting process improvements.
- Handle legal mail, client inquiries, and escalated customer service issues as needed.
- Work with the accounting team regarding client billing questions and outstanding balances.
- Support a collaborative team environment while delivering excellent client service.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Paralegal certification preferred.
- 1–2+ years of experience handling employment-based PERM immigration cases.
- Strong knowledge of the full PERM process, including ETA 9141, recruitment, ETA 9089, I-140 petitions, and employment-based green card applications.
- Experience preparing employment-based nonimmigrant visa petitions (H-1B, L-1, TN, O, E, F, B, etc.) is a plus.
- Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously while meeting strict deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong customer service mindset.
- Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision.
- Experience using case management software and learning new technology quickly.
- Ability to identify process improvements and adapt to changing priorities.
- Professional, dependable, and able to maintain confidentiality.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with clients who may be under stress or facing time-sensitive immigration matters.
- Positive, proactive, "can-do" attitude and ability to collaborate with attorneys and team members.

The base pay range for this position is $70,000 excluding benefits, bonuses, or other compensation. Your final compensation will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, location, and internal pay equity. Please note, hiring at the top of the range is uncommon to allow room for future growth.
