Job Description
The Housing Navigator plays an essential role in supporting individuals and families experiencing homelessness by securing safe, affordable housing that meets HUD and program standards. This position partners closely with clients, landlords, and community organizations to identify housing opportunities, remove barriers to stable housing, and ensure successful placements. The role also involves maintaining housing databases, coordinating inspections, and supporting long-term housing stability through advocacy and landlord engagement.
Responsibilities:
• Assist clients in locating and securing housing that meets HUD and program requirements
• Guide clients through housing applications, lease processes, and tenant education
• Build and maintain relationships with landlords and housing providers to expand housing opportunities
• Conduct or coordinate housing inspections to ensure compliance with HUD and NSPIRE standards
• Maintain accurate housing databases, client records, and program reporting metrics

Qualifications and Requirements:
• Associate Degree in psychology or related field required
• Minimum of 2 years of housing navigation, case management, or social services experience
• Valid Texas Driver’s License, reliable transportation, and valid vehicle insurance required
• NSPIRE Inspector Training required within first 90 days of employment
• Strong communication, organizational, problem-solving, and computer proficiency skills

The base pay for this position is $23.00 excluding benefits, bonuses, or other compensation. Your final compensation will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, location, and internal pay equity. Please note, hiring at the top of the range is uncommon to allow room for future growth.
