Environmental Safety Manager | $32-$34 per hour | Monday–Friday, 8 am 5 pm| Fully On-site | Short term Contract

Job Summary:
The Environmental Safety Manager leads the development, implementation, and oversight of safety programs while serving as a liaison between Risk Management, Operations, and administrative teams. This role supervises Safety Officers, identifies and addresses hazardous conditions, and ensures compliance with safety standards. The position requires strong independent judgment and initiative to support organizational safety and risk reduction.
Responsibilities:
- Lead Safety and Risk Management Committee; recommend policies, training, and resources
- Supervise Safety Officers and ensure timely follow-up on action items
- Manage AED equipment and ensure readiness
- Conduct hazard assessments and review incident reports
- Implement corrective actions and track completion
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and organizational goals
- Plan and conduct emergency drills (fire, medical, security, weather)
- Evaluate drill performance and implement improvements
- Maintain required documentation and reporting
- Develop and deliver safety training programs
- Support and guide Safety Officers in identifying and resolving risks
- Maintain safety resources and training materials on intranet
- Collaborate with departments and IT to support safety initiatives
- Monitor inspections, checklists, and mitigation activities
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Business or equivalent
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in facilities management, environmental safety, emergency management or life safety.
- Knowledge of safety and health rules, regulations and standards.
- Ability to communicate accurately and credibly, both orally and in writing.
- Extensive knowledge of safety and health rules, regulations, and standards
- Strong understanding of safety disciplines within healthcare environments
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, including public speaking
- Proficient in using software to develop, track, and analyze data-driven programs
- Ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs.

In the spirit of pay transparency, we want to share the base hourly pay rate for this position, which is $32.00 – $34.00 per hr, not including benefits, potential bonuses, or additional compensation. If you are hired, your base salary will be determined based on factors such as individual skills, qualifications, experience, and geographic location. In addition, we also believe in the importance of pay equity and consider the internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is the full base salary range for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical to allow for future & continued salary growth.
