Job Description
In this position, you will serve as the first point of contact for customers by providing outstanding customer service while efficiently processing transactions. You will assist customers with purchases, answer questions, resolve concerns, and help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming environment. The ideal candidate is dependable, friendly, and enjoys working in a fast-paced, customer-focused setting.
Responsibilities:
- Greet customers in a friendly, professional, and courteous manner.
- Accurately process cash, credit card, debit card, and other electronic transactions.
- Balance cash drawer and maintain accurate cash handling procedures.
- Answer customer questions and resolve concerns promptly and professionally.
- Assist customers with product information, pricing, and locating merchandise.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked checkout area.
- Follow company policies regarding cash handling, returns, exchanges, and loss prevention.
- Support team members with daily operational tasks as needed.
- Maintain a positive attitude while delivering exceptional customer service throughout each shift.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Must possess High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum of six (6) months of cashier, retail, or customer service experience preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to accurately handle cash and operate a point-of-sale (POS) system.
- Basic computer and math skills.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be dependable with excellent attendance.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to successfully pass pre-employment screening requirements.
