Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented, highly competent Payroll & Benefits Specialist to join our team. This role is ideal for someone with hands-on experience in Paycom Payroll processing (including multi-state payroll and reporting), along with strong knowledge of benefits administration, including FMLA, STD, LTD, and USERRA.
This position is critical as we look to implement or manage an FMLA third-party solution—or potentially administer it in-house. The right candidate will be integral in shaping that process and taking ownership of compliance and employee support functions.
Responsibilities:
- Process end-to-end payroll using Paycom, including state wage reporting and compliance
- Maintain payroll records, resolve discrepancies, and ensure timely, accurate payroll processing
- Administer benefits programs including FMLA, short-term/long-term disability, USERRA, and other leave types
- Support the setup or management of a third-party FMLA solution—or oversee in-house administration if required
- Serve as a resource to employees regarding pay and benefits questions
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
- Partner with HR to assist in onboarding, offboarding, and maintaining employee records
Qualifications and Requirements:
- 2+ years of payroll processing experience, Paycom experience strongly preferred
- Knowledge of multi-state payroll and reporting
- Strong understanding of benefits administration and compliance with leave laws (FMLA, STD, LTD, USERRA)
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Discretion in handling confidential information

The base pay range for this position is $60,000–$90,000, excluding benefits, bonuses, or other compensation. Your final compensation will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, location, and internal pay equity. Please note, hiring at the top of the range is uncommon to allow room for future growth.
