Assistant Controller | $180K–$215K Total Comp | Carrollton, TX | Hybrid Flex | Direct Hire
A fast-growing financial services organization is seeking an Assistant Controller to help lead its evolving corporate accounting function. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who brings strong technical accounting knowledge, prior people-management experience, and the ability to roll up their sleeves as the organization transitions from a single-entity to a more complex multi-entity environment.
This person will own key accounting deliverables, partner closely with FP&A, help optimize a new NetSuite environment, and gradually assume leadership across staff accounting, AP, AR, and other accounting operations. The organization specifically wants an active contributor and problem solver—not someone looking to manage from a distance.
Why You’ll Love This Role
- Join a rapidly growing organization as it expands from single-entity to multi-entity operations
- Build and develop an accounting team as the organization continues to scale
- High visibility across accounting, FP&A, treasury, AP, AR, and executive reporting
- Opportunity to influence processes and optimize a newly implemented NetSuite environment
- Significant long-term career-growth potential as the finance organization expands
- 35 work-from-home days annually with half-day flexibility
What You’ll Do
- Own month-end close and final quality control of financial reporting and accounting deliverables
- Provide hands-on technical accounting leadership as the organization expands into multiple entities
- Lead and develop accounting staff while remaining actively involved in the work
- Partner with FP&A to connect actual results with forecasts and strengthen executive financial insights
- Support audit activities and ensure financial reporting remains GAAP compliant and audit-ready
- Help build scalable processes across accounting, AP, AR, treasury, and related financial operations
- Optimize processes within the organization’s new NetSuite environment
- Help develop the future accounting organization, including additional staff accounting, AP, and AR resources
Qualifications
- Strong technical accounting background with deep knowledge of GAAP, close, financial reporting, and audit
- Prior corporate accounting/finance people-management experience
- CPA strongly preferred
- Multi-entity accounting experience highly preferred
- Demonstrated ability to be both a people leader and hands-on individual contributor
- Strong problem-solving, critical-thinking, and communication skills
- Ability to operate autonomously and navigate a rapidly growing environment
- NetSuite experience is highly attractive; comparable ERP experience will be considered
- AP, AR, treasury, and broader accounting operations exposure is a plus
- Tax operations experience, including state tax payments and notices, is a plus
- Financial services or wealth management experience is not required
