Job Description
A leading packaging company in Bardstown, Kentucky is hiring for their Bagging Department. This role will include overseeing the final converting stage where laminated film or paper is turned into finished packaging products.
Responsibilities:
- Assisting the machine operators with changeovers
- Verifying first bags off the line against client specifications
- Ensuring operators perform ongoing checks for seal integrity, print registration, and structural defects
- Following daily production schedule to make sure lines are fully staffed
- Mentor and train packaging operators and assistants
- Manage production logs, track waste, report metrics to Production Supervisor
Qualifications and Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED
- 3 – 5 years prior experience operating bag machinery is preferred
- At least 1-year prior experience leading a crew, managing shift schedules, leading line work
- Must wear proper PPE (Personal Protective and Product Protective Equipment)
- Understanding of work-based instructions
- Able to train on 1st shift, 6am – 2:30pm
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment screening, including drug and background checks
