Job Description
Our client is seeking an experienced Financial Analyst III / Senior Accountant with a strong background in nonprofit accounting, grant financial management, and financial reporting. This position reports to the Grants Manager and is responsible for overseeing financial activities, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, maintaining accurate financial records, and supporting audits and budget management.
Our client is seeking an experienced Financial Analyst III / Senior Accountant with a strong background in nonprofit accounting, grant financial management, and financial reporting. This position reports to the Grants Manager and is responsible for overseeing financial activities, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, maintaining accurate financial records, and supporting audits and budget management.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in nonprofit accounting, strong knowledge of GAAP, and proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel. This individual must be highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently in a fast-paced professional environment.
Responsibilities
• Manage daily financial operations, including accounts receivable, inventory tracking, procurement, grant accounting, and expense management.
• Prepare, maintain, and analyze accurate financial reports for management and key stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, state and federal regulations, and established accounting policies.
• Prepare financial documentation and supporting workpapers for annual audits and IRS Form 990 filings.
• Coordinate with external auditors and maintain effective internal accounting controls.
• Assist with annual budget preparation, expense monitoring, and budget-to-actual variance analysis.
• Maintain accurate records of grant-related financial activities, expenditures, and donor restrictions.
• Prepare financial information and supporting documentation for grant reporting and stakeholder reviews.
• Research financial discrepancies, resolve accounting issues, and ensure accurate recordkeeping.
• Collaborate with program managers and internal departments to support financial accountability and compliance.

• Experience with grant accounting, financial compliance, and tracking restricted funds.
• Experience preparing financial reports, budget analyses, and audit documentation.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word required.
