Job Description:
We are seeking an International Logistics Coordinator to manage international freight movements, supplier expediting, purchase-order follow-up, and shipment documentation within a global engineering environment. This is a hands-on, operational logistics role focused on keeping materials and equipment moving on schedule. The ideal candidate will bring at least 3 years of international freight or shipping experience and understand how to coordinate shipments across multiple transportation modes, including ocean, air, break bulk, flat rack, and truck freight. Candidates currently working for a freight forwarder are strongly encouraged to apply. This opportunity offers a natural next step into a broader supply chain environment with exposure to vendors, project teams, international shipping, and supplier management.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate international import and export shipments with freight forwarders, carriers, suppliers, and internal teams.
- Track ocean containers, break bulk, flat rack, air, and truck shipments to ensure deliveries remain on schedule.
- Follow up with suppliers on purchase orders, manufacturing progress, documentation, and committed delivery dates.
- Prepare and process international shipping documentation including packing lists, manifests, bills of lading, certificates of origin, commercial invoices, and shipping instructions.
- Maintain expediting reports and provide timely updates when supplier or shipment delays may impact project schedules.
- Work closely with Project Management and other internal stakeholders to support shipment planning, tracking, and delivery execution.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of international freight, international shipping, freight forwarding, or import/export experience required.
- Hands-on experience coordinating international shipments rather than primarily domestic warehouse or distribution activity.
- Experience with multiple freight modes, including ocean, air, break bulk, flat rack, and truck/project freight.
- Strong understanding of international shipping documentation, routing, shipment tracking, and carrier/freight-forwarder coordination.
- Experience with supplier expediting, purchase orders, and delivery follow-up strongly preferred.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple shipments, vendors, documents, and project deadlines simultaneously.
Benefits:
- Benefits beginning on day one
- 401(k) with company match
- Hybrid work schedule
- Paid time off
- Paid holidays
- Professional development and advancement opportunities
- Stable organization with strong employee tenure and low turnover
