We are seeking an experienced CNC Lathe Machinist to join a precision manufacturing team in the Mentor area. This second-shift opportunity is ideal for a skilled machinist who is comfortable setting up and operating CNC turning equipment, working from blueprints, and producing tight-tolerance components. Candidates should be confident making machine adjustments, inspecting their own work, and maintaining quality throughout the machining process.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC lathes and turning equipment
- Load tooling and establish or adjust machine offsets
- Read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and specifications
- Perform first-piece and in-process inspections to verify part quality
- Use precision measuring equipment including micrometers and calipers
- Make tooling and setup adjustments as needed to maintain quality and production standards
- Monitor machine performance and troubleshoot basic machining issues
- Maintain accurate production and quality documentation
- Follow established safety, quality, and housekeeping standards
Qualifications and Requirements
- Previous CNC lathe or CNC turning experience required
- CNC machine setup experience strongly preferred
- Ability to read blueprints and understand dimensional tolerances
- Experience using micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring tools
- Working knowledge of tooling, offsets, speeds, and feeds
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality parts
- Ability to work independently in a precision machining environment
- Reliable attendance and availability to work second shift
- Must be able to pass pre-employment screenings
