Job Summary:
City of Houston’s Public Works department is looking for a Project Technician III. This position is responsible for performing technical review and processing of Street Cut permit applications and construction plans to ensure compliance with City codes, standards, and permitting requirements.
City of Houston’s Public Works department is looking for a Project Technician III. This position is responsible for performing technical review and processing of Street Cut permit applications and construction plans to ensure compliance with City codes, standards, and permitting requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinates with applicants and internal stakeholders to facilitate timely permit issuance and provide customer support. Reviews permit applications, plans, and supporting documents for compliance with applicable requirements.
- Processes Street Cut permits from application through issuance. Coordinates with applicants, contractors, utilities, and City departments to resolve application deficiencies.
- Provides technical guidance and responds to permit-related inquiries.
- Document review comments and maintain accurate permitting records.
- Assists with workload management, backlog reduction, and process improvements.
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Requires an Associate's degree in Engineering, Drafting, Designing or a closely related field.
- Four years of related experience, such as engineering, drafting and/or designing, are required. Directly related professional experience may be substituted for the education requirement on a year-for-year basis.
