Job Description
The Buyer plays a key role in ensuring the timely procurement of raw materials, equipment, tools, and services to support manufacturing operations in an FDA-regulated and ISO-certified environment. This position partners closely with production, accounting, quality, and suppliers to maintain inventory levels, improve supply chain efficiency, and control costs. The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
Responsibilities:
- Process purchase orders and requisitions while maintaining accurate pricing, delivery schedules, and inventory levels.
- Collaborate with production, scheduling, and suppliers to expedite materials and ensure uninterrupted manufacturing operations.
- Research, source, evaluate, and maintain strong relationships with vendors while monitoring supplier performance for quality, cost, and delivery.
- Investigate and resolve purchasing, receiving, inventory, and supplier invoice discrepancies while supporting corrective action initiatives.
- Monitor lead times, safety stock, and purchasing trends to optimize inventory, reduce costs, and support continuous improvement efforts.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred with 2+ years of purchasing experience, or 5+ years of direct supply chain, customer service, or problem-solving experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain operations within a high-volume manufacturing environment preferred.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office 365, Microsoft Teams, and related business applications.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Knowledge of engineering, machining, metals, plastics, electronics manufacturing, or data analytics is a plus.
