Finance Director | Direct Hire – Onsite | Omaha Metro Area | $92,000–$100,000 | NEWLY CREATED POSITION
A rapidly growing organization in the Omaha metro area is seeking a Finance Director to lead its financial operations during a period of significant expansion and community development. This position will oversee the full municipal finance function including budgeting, financial reporting, compliance, and long-term capital planning.
The role will also play a key part in managing funding and financial oversight for a newly developed large-scale project.

Key responsibilities
• Lead the budgeting process and oversee long-term financial planning
• Manage capital budgeting and financial oversight for major developments
• Prepare and present financial reports, forecasts, and strategic recommendations to executive leadership and governing officials
• Oversee general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, reconciliations, and financial close processes
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
• Manage investments, bonds, debts, and long-term financial payments/ contracts
• Develop and maintain financial controls, processes, & policies
• Analyze financial results and identify trends & create improvements
• Supervise, mentor, and develop a small finance and accounting team
• Partner with internal departments to improve financials and operational decision-making
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field required
• MBA degree preferred
• 4+ years of progressive municipal or government finance experience
• 2+ years of leadership experience
• CPA preferred or willing to obtain
• Strong understanding of budgeting, capital planning, and regulatory compliance
• Advanced financial analysis, modeling, and reporting skills
