Job Description:
The Accounts Receivable (AR) Specialist is responsible for managing outstanding claims, resolving denials, and submitting appeals to ensure timely reimbursement from insurance carriers. This role works closely with billing teams and insurance providers to research claim issues, follow up on unpaid balances, and maintain accurate documentation within the billing system.
The Accounts Receivable (AR) Specialist is responsible for managing outstanding claims, resolving denials, and submitting appeals to ensure timely reimbursement from insurance carriers. This role works closely with billing teams and insurance providers to research claim issues, follow up on unpaid balances, and maintain accurate documentation within the billing system.
Responsibilities:
- Review and follow up on outstanding insurance claims to ensure timely reimbursement
- Investigate and resolve claim denials, rejections, and underpayments
- Prepare and submit appeals with appropriate documentation to insurance carriers
- Communicate with payers to verify claim status and obtain payment updates
- Maintain accurate records of claim activity, adjustments, and follow-up actions in billing systems
Qualifications and Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience in medical accounts receivable or medical billing
- Strong experience handling insurance denials and appeals
- Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance guidelines, and reimbursement processes
- Experience working with EHR or medical billing systems
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-up skills

The range mentioned above is the full base salary range for the role, and hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical to allow for future and continued salary growth.
