Job Description
The Industrial Electrician Apprentice supports the installation, maintenance, and repair of industrial electrical systems used in woodworking and manufacturing machinery. This role is ideal for individuals with strong mechanical aptitude who are eager to learn electrical systems, safety standards, and troubleshooting techniques in a hands-on environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist with installation, maintenance, and repair of industrial electrical systems, motors, and control panels
- Measure, cut, bend, and install conduit; pull wiring through designated openings
- Support troubleshooting and diagnosis of electrical equipment malfunctions
- Follow all safety procedures, electrical codes (including NEC), and regulatory requirements
- Maintain tools, equipment, parts, and supplies in an organized manner
- Learn to read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation
- Perform general labor tasks, including cleaning work areas and material handling
- Receive hands-on training from the Plant Electrician and Assembly Floor Supervisor
- Work in indoor and outdoor environments, including exposure to extreme hot or cold conditions
- Perform physically demanding tasks such as working in confined spaces or assisting with trenching
Qualifications and Requirements
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to use hand and power tools
- Physical stamina for standing, climbing, bending, and lifting
- Willingness to learn electrical systems, codes, and safety protocols
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team
