A leading Nebraska-based agribusiness company is seeking a Tax Accountant to oversee their corporate, individual, and partnership tax reporting and planning for their team. This role is ideal for a highly analytical professional who enjoys complex tax work, strategic planning, and collaborating across departments to ensure compliance and optimize tax savings.

Responsibilities
- Prepare and file federal, state, and local tax returns (corporate, individual, and partnership)
- Assist in preparing quarterly and year-end financial statements for tax and bank reporting
- Review tax returns prepared by colleagues to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Research and apply current tax laws, credits, and deductions to minimize tax liability and maximize profitability
- Provide tax planning for corporate, client partnerships, estate, and individual needs
- Monitor changes in tax regulations and proactively advise leadership on impacts and opportunities
- Support and respond to tax audits and inquiries from regulatory agencies
- Maintain organized and accurate documentation for all tax-related records
- Advise on Section 179, depreciation rules, Schedule F, and agricultural sales tax exemptions
- Collaborate with internal teams on financial planning and fiscal strategy
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5+ years of relevant tax accounting experience
- Active CPA license required
- Strong understanding of federal, state, and local tax laws in NE & Kansas
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in ERP Systems- MS Office and NetSuite
- High attention to detail, confidentiality, and accuracy
