Job Description:
The Senior Public Health Investigator conducts tuberculosis (TB) and latent tuberculosis infection (TBI) case investigations, including patient interviews, contact tracing, treatment adherence monitoring, and documentation in accordance with public health guidelines. This role collaborates with healthcare providers and community partners while also mentoring investigative staff to support effective disease prevention and control.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct advanced TB and TBI case investigations and patient interviews
- Perform contact tracing and follow-up monitoring to support disease containment
- Monitor treatment adherence and coordinate care with providers and community agencies
- Maintain accurate documentation and reporting in accordance with public health regulations
- Provide guidance and mentorship to investigative team members and support program initiatives
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Social Sciences, Physical Sciences, or a closely related field (relevant experience may substitute year-for-year)
- At least 1 year of public health experience
- Valid Texas Driver’s License and ability to comply with driving policy requirements
- Ability to work with confidential health information and follow public health protocols
- Must be current on vaccinations and complete required health screening and TB testing
