Job Description
Our engineering client needs a full-time Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join its Audio & Embedded Systems group. In this role, you’ll focus on designing and maintaining high-powered analog amplifiers and embedded systems used in emergency communications products such as tornado warning sirens, and civil defense notification systems. You’ll contribute across the full design cycle, from concept through testing and production, while collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams.
Responsibilities:
- Lead design and validation of analog audio amplifiers and power supplies (Class AB, transformer-based, battery-backed systems).
- Contribute to embedded system design on RISC-based architectures (Renesas, Microchip).
- Support hardware/software integration, debugging, and optimization of mixed-signal designs.
- Participate in schematic capture and PCB documentation (legacy OrCAD, moving toward Altium).
- Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams and technicians to ensure product performance and compliance.
- Support new product introductions, including audio and lighting systems.
Qualifications:
- 8+ years of professional electrical design experience, with emphasis on analog audio amplifier hardware.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Strong hands-on experience with power circuits, charging circuits, and transformer-based designs.
- Embedded systems experience at the bare-metal application level (not embedded programming).
- Familiarity with schematic capture tools (OrCAD, Altium).
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
