Job Description
A leading packaging company in Bardstown, Kentucky, is hiring for their Quality Department. This role is responsible for operation of slitting machinery and performing periodic inspections, to check the quality of material prior to and during slitting process.
Responsibilities:
- Review job orders to determine any special specifications, and quantities to be produced
- Operator goes and picks up web roll and other necessary materials to prepare for machine setup
- Load web roll and thread through the machine, input specific parameters into the control panel
- Cut core length per job card specifications
- Attach film to the core with tape
- Adjust slitting blades and change out if necessary
- Visual check of film for defects
- Once job is complete, take-out slit roll, label, and place on pallet for logistics
- Complete production and shift report
Qualifications and Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED
- Associate Degree, Technical Degree or certification is preferred
- Must wear proper PPE (Personal Protective and Product Protective Equipment)
- Understanding for work-based instructions
- Possess at least 3 years experience in a similar role
- Prior experience with measurement tools and testing equipment
- Able to train on 1st shift, 6am – 2:30pm
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment screening, including drug and background checks
